Someone's in the Kitchen with...

Angel Eyes came home with me for a little while this afternoon while the other two girls took a nap.  I asked her what she wanted to do and of course her answer as always was, "Let's make something!"  This time she wanted to cook cookies, but not just any cookies, she wanted cut out cookies.  I  usually only make these cookies at Christmas and Valentine's Day, but since I had all of the ingredients on hand we hopped right to it.

Angel Eyes wanted to wear an apron, but not a kid apron, she wanted to wear one of mine.  She picked one out and  got right to work, that is right after an impromptu performance of A WHOLE NEW WORLD.

She loved rolling out the dough, and wanted to use as many cookie cutters and measuring spoons as she could.  We ended up with Christmas trees, reindeer, snowmen, candy canes, gingerbread men, hearts, sheriff's stars, pigs, a freehanded smiley face and rainbow, and rabbits.

We had to quickly get her dressed for church since her mom was on the way to pick her up.  Don't ask me why she was wearing sunglasses to bake cookies indoors while it was raining outdoors.  When I told her she looked like she was from Hollywood, she said, "Mimi, I'm just a little kid, but I might go there one day when I'm grown up."  Then she informed me that she would probably grow up in September.  I told her it is September, and she said she meant September of next year.

When her mom and sister arrived Scooter wanted to try her hand with the icing and sprinkles too.  It was such a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon.  Just the kind of things I always hoped I would get to do with my grandkids!
